What agencies check before they award a contract
Great work isn't enough on its own. Contracting officers confirm that your business is registered, eligible, and able to deliver. Each of these can stop a bid if it isn't in place.
SAM.gov · UEIActive registration
Your business must be registered in SAM.gov with a Unique Entity ID, renewed every year.
NAICSThe right codes
Agencies search for vendors by NAICS code. The wrong codes mean you never show up.
MBE · 8(a) · DBECertifications
Minority business certifications open the door to set-aside contracts and supplier diversity programs.
Past performanceA track record
Documented projects and references show you can deliver on time and to spec.
P&L · Balance sheetFinancial capacity
Clean books, current tax filings, and working capital to carry costs until you're paid.
ResponsibilityEligibility
Every bidder certifies on debarment, recent convictions, and tax debts. Issues found early can often be resolved.

Frequently asked questions
What's included in the program?
Our Bid-Ready Package takes you from assessment to ready to bid. It includes your readiness scorecard and action plan, SAM.gov and NAICS setup, a minority business certification application, a professional capability statement, past performance write-ups, a financial readiness review, a target list of agencies and opportunities, an organized bid-ready document folder, and a review of your first bid.
How long does it take to become contract-ready?
Most clients complete the program in 60 to 90 days. Your exact timeline depends on where you start, and your scorecard and consultation will show you what to expect.
Do I need to be certified before I can bid?
No. Many contracts are open to any registered business. But certification can open set-aside and supplier diversity contracts that face far less competition. Choosing the right certifications, and preparing an application that gets approved, is a core part of our program.
Does it cost money to register in SAM.gov?
No, registration is free. But the process is detailed, and errors in your entity information, NAICS codes, or financial details can delay approval for weeks or keep you out of agency searches. We make sure it's done right the first time and stays current each year.
Why not just do this myself?
You can, and some businesses do. Most find it takes far longer than expected, and small mistakes can cost them opportunities. We give you a clear plan, a defined finish line, and someone in your corner, so you spend your time running your business and pursuing contracts.
Do you guarantee I'll win a contract?
No one can honestly guarantee a contract award. Agencies make those decisions. What we commit to is getting your business Bid Ready, with the registrations, certifications, documents, and plan agencies look for.
What if something in my past could affect eligibility?
The assessment asks about this so we can plan for it early. A past issue doesn't automatically disqualify you, and many can be resolved or explained. Your answers are kept confidential.
Do you only work with minority-owned businesses?
The program is designed for minority-owned businesses, but other small businesses preparing for government work are welcome to take the assessment and reach out.
